George Williams

George M. Williams, Jr entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in Yonkers, New York after a lengthy illness. George was born on August 26, 1941in the Bronx, New York to the late Mr. George and Mrs. Rowena Williams. In 1943 the family moved to Bushey Avenue in Yonkers, New York. He attended elementary and middle school at Holy Trinity School in Yonkers. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959. George was a stand-out consummate athlete participating in football, and track and field. Upon completion of High School, George obtained an associate degree from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, West Virginia. After college, he returned to Yonkers, New York and entered the Apprenticeship Program to become a Journeyman Electrician. He worked many years in New York City as an electrician at many venues. One of the electrical venues included the lighting and illumination of the lower deck of the George Washington Bridge in New York and New Jersey. George met the love of his life, Connie, they were neighbors on Bushey Avenue, and they were married in 1964. They had three children George Clifton, David Carlton and Connie Yvonne Williams. In 1980 George and Connie relocated the family to New Mexico. George was a Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Albuquerque while his wife Connie was a licensed Master of Social Worker where she worked as a Case Worker for the City of Albuquerque, later becoming a Probation Officer for the City of Albuquerque. George and Connie were dedicated Christians spending their time with community services such as feeding the homeless, and many other benevolent endeavors. They were very family oriented. George was an ardent football fan. He also loved collecting classic model cars. George had a profound sense of humor and a respect for others. George was predeceased in death by his parents Mr. George M. and Mrs. Rowena Williams, his wife, Connie Williams, Son, David Williams, Sister Patricia Richardson. He leaves to cherish his memory: son, George Clifton Williams and daughter: Connie (Gregory Garcia) Williams, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico: brother Melvin (Christine) Williams, MD and, sisters Jane Foster, of Washington, DC; Marian (Robert) Martin and Carol (Kenneth) Pullins both of Yonkers, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
